1B. Activity:
Growing a Population/Analysis of change
An analysis of change between each “snapshot” is accomplished by examining the reasons for locating transportation lines, agricultural activities and industrial activities within the surrounds of the watershed of interest.
Using a topographical map, students are asked to locate regions for the land uses identified in task # X . Regions for industrial, agricultural, residential and other uses are located within the watershed of choice. Students are asked to consider rivers as power sources for 1800’s style industry, topography for agricultural activities, water sources and transportation routes and routes/locations for waste storage and elimination.
